A nudge in the right direction

Hey, Guys^^ I watched HTTYD 2 today and now i feel inspired (IM EXPLODING XD) I hope you will like this One-Shot

A Morning on Berk, the most peaceful place on earth. At least for the Dragons.
The sun had risen only a few minutes ago and half the village was still half asleep.
Only one was already wide awake:
Hiccup Haddock the 3th, also known as the Chief of Berk.
And has been for 4 years. He's even grown a little bit, if you think about it.
And there is one person that does that:
Astrid Hofferson
A little sleepy she accompanied him on his morning walk trough the village. Always by their side are Toothless and Stormfly.

-a wonderful morning, dont you think, Astrid?
- Uwaah.. yes, beautifull. Perfect for a little Nap.
- You know that the Chief have to be the First in the Morning to-
-to see that Things are right, i know.

The two walked through the entire village. Everything was in order and so they went down to the docks. Meanwhile, some residents were awake and already at work.
Astrid and Hiccup stared at the blue lake and it becomed a little silent. Than Astrid breakd this Silence.

-Well Hiccup, your doing a good Job as Chief.
- Really? Thank you, its a real hard Work.
- And you stilö find the Time to be with me
- I wouldnt survive this if you wouldnt be with me. *he smiled*
- And thats why... well, you know... its a funny Story, really! *she makes a fake laugh*
 My Father askd me yesterday if you.. finally... askd me
...
-Asking? Asking what?
- You know, this big Question tha-

The horn of the Coast Guard sounded. Astrid and Hiccup looked at the horizon and discovered a ship with red sails.
Hiccup took his telescope and spared the ship more closely.
- This cant be..

The ship has created and placed the guard rail on the bridge. First, there were two Vikings next to the plank and began with the greeting.

- We, from the Bog-Burglars Tribe, salute you, Chief Haddock! Please welcome our  Princes on your Island, Miss-

The speech was interrupted by the screech of a 24-year Blondiene who like bitten by monkeys running towards Hiccup and hugged him.

- HICCUP!!! Its so great to see you again!!
- Yes, im glad to, Uff, would you please?
- Oh yes, yes im sorry. You know me, Some say I was a bit stormy he he^^
- Yeah, a bit- Astrid said it with a lil anger in her Voice

Camicazi let go of him and stand a step bag. Now everybody could see what a Woman she becomed: Long, bright blond hair. Wide hips and a few really big ... shoulders!
But Hiccup had to time for such Things!

- Camicazi, why are you here? And why didnt you send me a Message?
- Im here, becouse i missed you! AND i have a Question from my Mother to you. But before  that, i have to tell you that i heard about the Fight... and Stoik
 I feelt really sorry for you, Hiccup. I wish´d, i was there to help you
- Its ok, im fine. Time heals all wounds, you know.

Camicazi stared at Hiccup with a soft smile.
But Astrid had not forgotten the second set. She taked a stap right between their Faces

- WHAT Question is that?
- Oh, yes. Remember that Time my Mother send a Message to you, which they had proposed an engagement? Between us?

Hiccup got big Eyes and lookd from the angry Astrid to the smiling Camicazi
- Uhm, yes... But didnt my Father rejected that?
- Yes, your FATHER did that. And he never told my Mum the exact reason why. But now that Berk have a new Chief and its YOU and its been a long Time since the last question..

-Wow wow wow! What is this suppost to mean?!-
Astrid was now at the end of her patience.
- You checked on here and then can just let the bomb explode?! Did you ever think that he has someone already?!!!

Camicazi got a puzzld Face
- And you are?

Astrid stood on confidently and said in a calm but firm voice:
- I am this Someone!

The 2 Girls glared at each other for While, until Hiccup interrupted their Staring-Contast
- Hey, calm down, Ladys. And and by the Way, Camicazi. Astrid has not so wrong, i mean this is all so suddenly.
I can not decide that off the cuff out.

Camicazi: I know and my Mom knows that too, thats why she gives you a Month to decide this inportant Decision.
A different topic, could one of you be so kind and show me the way to the inn? I have to deal with something.

With that Sentance she left the shocked Couple and followd Gobber to the Inn.

-Did this really just happend?
- Yes and i dont like that, Hiccup!
- Me neither, what am i supposed to do now?
- Are you really asking that?! Dump her and send her back to her Mother!
- I cant do this so simply! Who know what this coul mean for our Realationship to the Bog-Burglars Tribe! And she is my Childoodfriend, i dont want to hurt her Feelings.
- Oh, but husting my Feelings is okey?!
- Astrid, you have to understand that, the political relationship is-
- Easy to hurt, i know! But you are a good Chief and a really good Man, it should be easy for you to make a fast Decision! Exspecially in the important Things!

Astrid feelt that she was close to cry. Suddenly she wanted to get away from this Place and runnd away. Leaving a confused Hiccup behind.

Astrid sit on a Rock away from the great Hall and try´d not to cry. But she felt how the Tears stardet to running down he Cheeks. She feelt so weak.
Why cant Hiccup just rejekt this Chick? Marrieng an old Friend becouse he dont want to hurt her Feelings is not a solution!
Even this Camicazi would notice how he really feels someday and that will hurt her more!
... or what if not?
What if he falls in love with her?

- No, that wont happen!  

Astrid shakes her Head to get rid of this Thought. It just cant happen! Not Hiccup!
We have been together for 9 years, after all! And he... he..

- He still havnt askd me...

- Are you alright?

Astrid rised her Head and lookd into the worryd Face from Eret. She turnd around to hide her Face. It was probably red and swollen of he crying.

- Yes, im fine as you can see! Now go back to the others!
- I might dont look like, but i can see when someone is sad.
 
He sat down beside her

- And im a quite good Listener, if i say so. Is it becouse of this Viking Princess?

Astrid lookd surprised to him. Eret just smiled

- The whole Village is talking about that. Snoutlaud told me some Details about her and Hiccup. That must be really hard for you?
- To be honest.. it isnt just that one Thing..

And than she stardet talking about her Problem. Eret only sat there and listend. That was enough for her. It just felt good to let all this Stuff out.
After a While Astrid felt better and thankd Eret for the Help.

- Dont worry to much. I might dont know Hiccup as long as you Guys, but i can say that he is not that Type of a Man. Neither a Coward than a Treater.
- I know that... thank you alot, i feel much better now
- Im glad to help. You know where you find me, when you need me again.

Than he go´d back to the Village.
Astrid stared into space for a while, until it was brought by a woman's voice back to reality.

- What a kind Man. And hot too!
- What are you saying, Camicazi? I thought you are here for Hiccup?
- Yes, i am. But i was more thinking about you. You see, when i and Hiccup will marry, you could hook up with this Boy. You know already, so you're not alone.

Astrid lookd into her smiling Face. Since neither scorn nor arrogance was in her face. She made an honest smile.
Was she really interested in her well-being?

What kind of nonsense is on here?!

In the great Hall was great turmoil when Astrid went in.
She saw everywhere smiling faces.

- That is our Chief! He is a really smart Man!- she heard from everywhere
- Looks like Hiccup solved another Problem?- said Camicazi

Since earlier she went Astrid afterwards. But what she says seems to be true. Hiccup stood in the middle of the hall and talked with some men.

- That was nothing, really. Everyone else could handle that. You dont have to come to me.

Camicazi ran towards him - But you are the best Man for such Things! No matter what Problem apears, you know how to deak with it^^


Astrid just stood there and watched. They really get along well. Maybe she's the reason why he cant just decide so.

Camicazi: But Hiccup, dont forget the Big Decision, will ya? It is really important, you know that^^

Hiccup- Oh right, the Decision! Thanks, i almost forgot that!

Camicazi- Its ok, as lon as you think aboit it^^

Hiccup- Actually, i already ma my Dicision.

Astrid- Huh?

Astrid was paralized when she heard that. Hiccup walkd to the Table and said with a laud Voice

Hiccup- May I have your attention? I have something to announce!

The whole Hall got calm now and lookd at Hiccup.

Hiccup- Thank you. You may all know that Camicazi comed in the Morning to our Island. And you may also know why she is here. I geus you know that being the Chief is a really hard Job and some of you were asking me, when i´ll get a worth Partner? Well, i think you are right.

He walkd towards the blond Valkyre

Hiccup: I have long thought about it, to make it finally official

He took her Hand, his voice was echoing in the Hall

Hiccup: Today i ask you.

All the People was staring at hem. It was as if all hold their breath. Especially Astrid.

Hiccup: Astrid Hofferson, will you marry me?


Astrid tryd to get her breath back. Did he really..?
-Finally!- she heard her Father yelling somewhere in the Hall and her Mother making a -Hush!-
Everything seemed suddenly like in slow motion. But her heart seemed in turn to beat faster.
She had indeed always wanted and imagined that he would ask her, but now that it happened, she found no words.
She was so excited.
She was nervous.
And than she lookd in his Face.
He smiled.
He smiled confidently, without any doubt in his eyes.

- Yes.

A murmur went through the round

Astrid felt Tears in her Eyes, but this Time she didnt want to turn her Face. She lookd straight to him.

- Yes, of course! The fact that you ask this at all!

She fall into his Arms, hugd him tight, than they kissd while the People around them cheered
besides Camicazi. She stood rooted to the spot.

There was a big celebration that far into the night went inside.
Valka and Astrid's parents talked about the preparations.
Snoutlaud, Fishleg and Tuffnut made drinking contest.
Camicazi drunkd Beer Eret an Ruffnut and yelld that she would come over it.

The Couple was Outside and watchd the Stars.
Suddenly Astrid punchd Hiccup on the Arm

-Ouch
- Thats for taking so long!
- Yeah, sorry about that.. I just needed a nudge in the right direction.
- And being almost forcd into a Engagement was this nudge?
- Maybe, we will never find out

There it was again, his soft smile he showd before.
It made her heart melt.
She nudged him down on the ground and sat up on him.

- THIS is for being the Man of my Dreams!

Than she givd him a deep kiss
